App template: Sale
Sell it once, and agree on what was sold.
When you buy or sell something second-hand, the price is usually clear but the details are not: the condition, what was included, when it will be delivered. The Sale template records all of it in one receipt that the buyer and the seller both approve.
When to use it
- You sell a used phone, laptop or console to someone you met online.
- You buy furniture or a bike and pay part of the price now.
- You agree on a price for an item that will be delivered later.
- You sell something to a friend and they will pay in instalments.
What goes on the receipt
- Who is the seller?
- The seller is named as responsible for delivery; the other person is the buyer.
- Item
- What is being sold, with model, serial number or anything that identifies it.
- Price
- The agreed price and how it is paid.
- Delivery
- When and how the item changes hands.
- Condition
- The condition it is sold in: scratches, battery health, missing parts, "as is".
How it works
- 01 Tap "New Receipt", pick the template and answer its short questions. SEAL turns your answers into numbered items; add your own items if you need to.
- 02 Pair with the other person using a 6-character code (letters and digits, valid for 30 minutes, single use): share an invite link, show the QR code or read the code out.
- 03 The other person reviews the receipt on their own phone and approves it or uses "Suggest Edit". Once the final version is approved, the receipt is sealed.
- 04 Both of you keep the same sealed record. Its code (SEAL-XXXXXXXX) lets anyone look up its status at getseal.app/verify, and either of you can download it as a PDF.
Tips for a clear receipt
- List known defects in the condition field. It protects the seller as much as the buyer.
- Add what is included (charger, box, accessories) as its own item.
- Seal the receipt before the item and the money change hands, while you are still together.
Questions
Do we need to meet in person?
No. You can pair with an invite link over WhatsApp or by reading out the code on a call. If you are together, showing the QR code is the fastest way.
Can a third party check the receipt?
Anyone with the receipt code can look up its recorded status at getseal.app/verify, without the app.
Is this a sales contract for a car or property?
No. Vehicles and property have formal transfer procedures. SEAL can record what you agreed along the way, but it does not replace them.
